PROJECTS
Red Pepper IT: An IT Web Management Application Framework
Capstone Senior Project
Sponsor/Industry Partner: Georgia Tech Research Institute
August 2022 - December 2022
Developed a basic framework for an open-source IT Web Management Application. The project's focus was the development of a robust Content Management System to support the further development of tools and modules.
Roles:
  • Project Lead
  • Lead Software Developer
Coding stack:
  • MySQL
  • PHP
  • Bootstrap
  • JQuery
My Contributions:
  • Project Framework
Developed a php-based framework based on Module View Controller Pattern principles from scratch which the project was built upon. The Red Pepper portion of the name derives from the framework I developed prior it was implemented into the project
Developed an authentication system for the system, enabling users to log in and register.
The framework uses Composer as the package manager, PHPRouter as the router, Twig as the templating engine, vLucas's phpdotenv to handle environmental variables, PHINX for database and table migrations, Ramsay's UUID, and Bcrypt to hash and salt passwords.
  • Content Management System
Developed Content Management that integrates new tools and modules into the system.
The system scans and searches the modules directory to load all the modules into the system. A developer only needs to provide the module's functionality, table migration if the module requires storage in the database and a json file that includes some basic info regarding the module.
